Malacañang, PNP eye lead

MALACAÑANG Patriots and Philippine National Police Responders will dispute the solo lead today in Group A elimination of the 3rd UNTV Cup today at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Patriots and the Responders clash at 4:30 p.m. with the winner earning a third straight win in as many starts.

The Patriots outlasted the fancied Department of Justice, 96-92, on Nov. 30, while the Responders whipped House of Representatives, 110-64, last Dec. 3.

Tesda chief Joel Villanueva and Samuel Ignacio will lead the Patriots while the Responders will reley anew on former University of the East player Ollan Omiping and Joseph Francisco.

In the other game, the Kenneth Duremdes-mentored Senate collides with GSIS at 3 p.m., with the Senate Defenders looking for a second straight win after a 96-90 triumph over National Housing Authority.

The champion squad will pocket P1.5 million to be given to the chosen beneficiary, an advocacy of broadcaster Daniel Razon.
