The best this game could offer
After so many months of rain delays, the 2011 Federation Men’s Tournament is coming to a close this week.
The two top seeds have made it to the finals—Wack Wack Golf and Country Club and Valley Golf Club.
We must give credit to the Federation of Golf Clubs (Phils.) Inc. for staging such a successful tournament that has brought about friendships, camaraderie and love for the game of golf.

This has been always one of my dreams and I’d like to thank Wack Wack for this rare privilege.
It was also nice to see old acquaintances and make new friends.

The format of the Federation tournament allows for senior golfers, regular men golfers and junior golfers to intermingle and compete for their home clubs.
The interaction between the various ages brings out the best this game could offer in terms of developing not only the golfer but the social person.
This type of play also helps develop a sense of humility and patience in players.
These are the kinds of tournaments that we can envision for our junior golf development program. Our universities and colleges can also adapt the format.
All the best to both teams this week and may we all continue to enjoy the best this game has to offer.
