NBA: After 19-game win streak ends, Hawks beat Wizards

ATLANTA, United States – Bouncing back after their team-record 19-game NBA win streak was halted, the Atlanta Hawks downed the Washington Wizards 105-96 Wednesday.

Jeff Teague scored 26 points and passed off eighth assists to lead the Hawks, who improved their Eastern Conference-leading record to 41-9.

Atlanta’s win streak was stopped with a loss Monday at New Orleans but rebounded to win at home for the 11th consecutive time.

Al Horford added 21 points despite 10-of-24 shooting and also grabbed 13 rebounds for the Hawks, who also had 14 points from DeMarre Carroll and 11 more from Paul Millsap.

John Wall led the Wizards with 24 points and a game-high nine assists while backcourt partner Bradley Beal added 23 points and Brazilian big man Nene contributed 17 points.

It was the fourth loss in a row for the Wizards, their longest skid since December of 2013.

Washington fell to 31-19, still the third-best record in the East but 10 games behind the Southeast division-leading Hawks.
