Lost Cafe France blames poor shooting in loss to Hapee
MANILA, Philippines-Shellshocked after a disappointing loss, the Cafe France Bakers look at their cottonmouth offense as the key to their downfall.
Bakers head coach Edgar Macaraya said they own grave with their lackluster performance in Game One of the PBA D-League semifinals on Thursday.
Article continues after this advertisement“It was awful,” Macaraya said as his team fell 58-74 to the Hapee Fresh Fighters. “We just have to adjust for Game 2.”
“Our shooting percentage was really low.”
Cafe France shot 18-for-68 for a horrendous 26 percent shooting and went 5-of-34 from deep for a paltry 15 percent clip.
Article continues after this advertisementHapee, meanwhile, had a much better display going for 22-for-51 from the field for a 43 percent clip, and went careful but effective from deep with an excellent 7-of-9 for 78 percent.
“We can’t do anything about it anymore,” Macaray said. “All we cab do is improve our three-point shooting for the next game.”
