Under Armour releases limited 100 pairs of Curry One in PH
MANILA, Philippines—After much anticipation, Under Armour will finally unveil Curry One in the Philippines, the first signature shoe of NBA superstar Stephen Curry, releasing only 100 pairs in the market.
Curry One will be launched worldwide on Feb. 15 at UA.com and selected global trailers, and will be released in the Philippine market on Feb. 28. Retailing for P7,995, Curry One will be available at selected Titan stores and the NBA flagship store in Glorietta. The soon to open Under Armour brand house in UP Town Center will also offer Curry One to the first 36 fans. Curry One will also launch a collection of apparel and accessories this year.
This is a big moment for all the Stephen Curry fans as well as NBA and basketball lovers. But more than that, there’s a lot more reason why this limited offer shouldn’t be missed.
Curry One innovation
The shoe was inspired by Curry, from his humble beginnings to being one of the undisputed NBA superstar players of his generation. The shoe’s innovative features reflect Stephen’s style of play as well as his drive to be the best in his craft. Curry One’s highlights are its precise and sharp design lines, showcasing the advancement it has gone through that will benefit every performance.
Curry One’s technology has been engineered with two innovations, Charged Cushioning and Anafoam, which provide the most “unguardable” player with performance benefits that his game demands. With this, fans will now have more reasons to enjoy their all-time favorite game.
For ultimate advancement in energy, the shoe’s Charged Cushioning provides system absorption impact and converts it into a responsive burst to give the first step and change of direction unmatched explosiveness.
Another innovative feature of Curry One is its Anafoam, which is a combination of EVA foam and mesh to anatomically fit essential pressure points to support the foot during a game. Additional performance benefits of this feature include:
- an external heel counter that eliminates sliding and keeps foot locked in place;
- a midfoot TPU shank underfoot for maximum stability;
- a multidirectional herringbone outsole delivering superior traction and control, and
- a padded mesh tongue with synthetic suede offering protection and increased breathability.
Since Curry One was inspired by Curry’s journey on and off the court, each of its colorway tells their own story about him. The Curry One “Home” features a Royal upper with Taxi and White accents, while Curry One “Away” has a black upper with Taxi accents and a Camo print. The “Home” and “Away” colorways represent his love for the Bay area, his team and their fans.
Addition to the colorways collection are “The Underdog,” “Candy Reign,” and “Father to Son,” which tell their own unique stories that define Curry as a husband, father, son, brother and on-court game-changer.
