MANILA, Philippines — A pair of middleweight contenders will slug it out in the first UFC Fight Night here on May 16 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The bout between Dutch fighter Gegard Mousasi and Costas Philippou, known as a knockout artist, has been added as a co-main event of the Frankie Edgar-Urijah Faber headliner.

Mousasi (36-5-2) is fresh off a quick stoppage of Dan Henderson last January where he needed only 70-seconds to win, while Philippou (13-4, 1 NC) hardly broke a sweat in disposing of Lorenz Larkin in the first round last May.

Also added to the fight card is a matchup between Korean Hyun Gyu Lim and American Neil Magny in the welterweight division.

The New York native Magny has been on a resurgence since absorbing back-to-back losses in 2013 having won six consecutive fights.
