Adamson-Lyceum-seek-key-V-League-victories
MANILA, Philippines–Two days after pulling off the biggest upset of the tournament, the Adamson Lady Falcons tackle cellar-dweller St. Benilde Sunday in the Shakey’s V-League Season 7 second conference at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Falcons will try to formalize their quarterfinal entry against the Lady Blazers in the curtain-raiser of a three-game schedule at 2 p.m. Adamson is favored with its 3-2 record, but the Lady Falcons have been inconsistent so far. They easily yielded to Far Eastern U in straight sets, but regrouped to stun the Lady Stags in a marathon five-setter. San Sebastian-Excelroof tries to bounce back against National U at 4 p.m., before a well-rested Ateneo squad battles Lyceum in the nightcap.Like Adamson, Lyceum is seeking to secure its place in the quarterfinals with a fourth win in six matches.
Given little chance to make an impact with their unheralded roster, the Lady Bulldogs have turned out to be the surprise package of the tournament by splitting their first four games.
They will get their toughest test yet against the Lady Stags, who stormed to four straight victories before getting stopped by the Lady Falcons. Ateneo returns to the floor after a 10-day break. The Lady Eagles are coming off a straight-sets defeat to San Sebastian on July 22.
