MANILA, Philippines-Jayson Castro is awarded as one of the PBA’s 40 Greatest Players, but others are still in disbelief of the decision.

Retired players like Ramon Fernandez said active players are too young to get in the prestigious club.

For Castro, criticisms are just that added spice for his career.

“They say that I’m too young,” Castro, 28, said. “Well, I want to prove to them that I am worthy of my spot.”

Castro did show to his critics that he is worthy of his spot when he went on a shooting display worthy of the record books.

During Game 3 of their best-of-five semifinals series against Purefoods, Castro made seven straight three-pointers which was the third all-time for most three-pointers made consecutively.

He finished with 26 points, 8-of-9 from deep, to go along with 10 assists.

Castro said that they want to get into the Commissioner’s Cup Finals after several episodes of heartbreak.

Their latest one was in the Philippine Cup Finals when eventual champion San Miguel swept them.
