WUHAN, China—Yi Jianlian of the Washington Wizards scored 25 points as China pulled off a 70-69 escape act over Jordan in the gold-medal finale of the Fiba Asia Championship.

The Chinese will represent the continent in the London Olympics next year while Jordan joins South Korea in an additional qualifying tournament on July 2-8.

The Jordanians came close to pulling off an upset but Rasheim Wright and Sam Daghles missed successive desperation attempts in the last 8.8 seconds.

Yi made the marginal freethrow with 28.5 ticks left before the Jordanians launched a last-ditch effort to save their Olympic bid.
