Lady Eagles gun for 4th win
HOT-STARTING Ateneo tries to make quick work of another foe in the Shakey’s V-League Season 12 Collegiate Conference today at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
But more than nailing a fourth win, Ateneo star Alyssa Valdez wants to see better plays when the Lady Eagles tangle with the St. Benilde Lady Blazers in Group B at 12:45 p.m.
“We saw our weaknesses [in first-ball reception] and we need to improve,” said Valdez, after the Lady Eagles secured a quarterfinal berth last week.

Coach Roberto Javier said he hopes the Lady Chiefs—the NCAA champions holding a 2-1 record behind unbeaten Far Eastern University—can build on their big win over National University last week.
“It was a big test for us because we had never won against them,” said Javier after the win that put the Lady Chiefs in a three-way tie for second place with its victim and University of the Philippines.

Only the top four teams from each group will advance to the next round.
The tournament-favorite Lady Eagles have dropped only a set in their last three matches.
