A calm Rodney Santos came in for the post-game interview, a contrast to the one sitting on the bench all stressed out from the earlier’s game.

Santos was fuming on several occasions every time his Stags committed silly plays.

Nevertheless, San Sebastian won over Emilio Aguinaldo College 91-77 for its fourth win in 14 games.

San Sebastian is already out of contention for the final four spot, but the neophyte coach remains in love with his job.

“I love this job,” Santos said and smiled at the realization of his team’s standing. “Everybody has a first time.”

Santos knows that failures like this is part of being new to the coaching industry, saying that even a multitiled coach like Tim Cone had experienced it.

“Even Coach Tim, he experienced it, but he wouldn’t be the coach that he is now if he didn’t experience it,” Santos said.

Despite a looming season of defeat, Santos is not ready to abandon his antlered ship.

“I’ll take the challenge.”
