Ravena finds shooting touch, focused on getting teammates involved

Facing questions about his poor shooting, Kiefer Ravena answered the criticisms with his most efficient game this season.
The reigning MVP had been missing his shots but he finally rediscovered his shooting touch on Saturday, scoring 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting that went with eight rebounds, 11 assists and two steals in nearly 31 minutes of play.

“A lot of people have been questioning my shooting percentage. And with the help of coach Ronnie, coach Bo and the other coaches, they really help me to pick my spots and they were able to put me in a position where I’m really comfortable,” said Ravena after leading Ateneo past Adamson, 87-72.
“Probably I’ve been forcing things at times but it’s really a big thing that I get to involve my teammates because that’s a positive outcome when we win so that’s what’s important about it.”
Ravena actually had more assists than the entire Adamson team which only had eight.
Most of Ravena’s dishes were to Ateneo’s bench players like Aaron Black, Gwyne Capacio and Vince Tolentino, who combined for 33 of the Blue Eagles’ 46 points off the bench.
“Hopefully this will continue. I won’t get 11 assists had my teammates weren’t able to make shots,” said Ravena, who found an open Black for a buzzer-beating triple that put Ateneo ahead by 21, 79-58, heading into the fourth quarter.
“Credit to them (teammates). It doesn’t always go to me they deserve it too.”
