Max! Bond fends off Cobra rally in PBA D-League
MANILA, Philippines – Rudy Lingganay pumped in a layup with three seconds left to boost Max! Bond to a 77-75 triumph over Cobra Thursday at the PBA Developmental League at the Lyceum Gym in Manila.
Max! Bond, led by stocky guard Rudy Lingganay, fended off a blistering rally by Cobra in the last two minutes to force a four-way tie at the top spot in group B.
Standouts from the Asean Basketball League topscored for the Sumos as Lingganay finished with 13 points while forward Jun Jun Cabatu added 19.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Sumos, mentored by Pido Jarencio, coach of the University of Sto. Tomas Tigers, were leading by nine with less than three minutes left before the Ironmen posted their run.
Meanwhile, Blackwater also got a share of the lead in group A by downing Pharex, 86-75, in the first game.
Hot shooting wingman Andrian Celada, main man for Arellano in the National Collegiate Athletic Association, exploded for 27 points.
