Chua bags Masters crown in 44th PBC-Boysen Philippine Open
Philippine team standout and TBAM-Prima mainstay Kenneth Chua kept his composure to thwart the tough challenge by Noli Pabilonia of ATBA and win the Masters crown in the 44th PBC-Boysen Philippine Open held Sunday at the Sta. Lucia Bowling Center in Cainta, Rizal.
Chua carded a 3313 score after 14 games to pocket the P100,000 grand prize, while Pabilonia posted a 3173 to settle for second. Krizziah Tabora, another member of the Philippine team and of TBAM-Prima, wound up third with 3136.
Article continues after this advertisementThe finals series turned into a three-way fight among Chua, Pabilonia, and Tabora onwards from the 5th game. Pabilonia vaulted into second spot after rolling a perfect score in the 6th game, cutting Chua’s lead to just 12 pins. But Chua countered with his own 300 in the 7th game to keep his lead.
Chua nearly rolled another perfect score in the 9th game, missing the 10-pin in his last throw to post a 289. That enabled Chua to coast to victory till the final game.
