Three new teams to join upcoming PBA D-League
Phoenix Petroleum, Mindanao Aguilas, and Jam Liner-UP are set to join the upcoming 2016 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup, which will open in January next year.
The three teams will be join six other teams led by defending Foundation Cup champion CafeFrance.
The Bakers, fresh from another title conquest with the CEU Scorpions in NAASCU, eye domination this season with perennial contenders Hapee, Cebuana Lhuillier, and Cagayan Valley foregoing their participation.
Article continues after this advertisementRacal Motors, Tanduay Light, AMA University are all returning along with Alibaba, which is set to pick first in the PBA D-League Draft on December 1 at the PBA Cafe.
Wangs Basketball and BDO-NU, teams who missed the last conference, are also participating anew in the first conference of the 2016 season.
The league is set to implement new rules regarding the resorts.
Article continues after this advertisementSchool-based teams are required to field six varsity players in the lineup. If the school-based team wish to play foreign player, it has to have nine local players in its 14-man roster.
The league has also extended the age limit for players, from the previous 28 to now 30 years old.
