AVC ‘very happy’ with PH volleyball’s progress
BANGKOK –The Asian Volleyball Confederation has lauded the efforts of Philippine volleyball officials on the steady rise of the sport in the country.
Shanrit Wongprasert, secretary general of the AVC, Thursday said the powerful regional body has been monitoring the progress since unified body Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas was established early this year.
Article continues after this advertisement“Yes we are very happy. Of course, we are following the situation (in the LVPI),” he said at the close of the first-ever AVC press seminar participated here by representatives of 13 countries who regularly host AVC meets.
Wongprasert also noted the huge following of club and collegiate leagues including the Philippine Superliga led by its president Ramon “Tats” Suzara who is also AVC chair of marketing and development.
