Kiefer Ravena and his mother Mozzy have always been on the same team.

But on Wednesday, mother and son played for opposing sides in a charity volleyball event.

“I was actually afraid because I’ve heard what she can do on the volleyball court,” Kiefer said Wednesday after the event dubbed “FASTBR3AK,” which raised P500,000 for victims of Typhoon “Nona” (international name: Melor).

Mozzy, a two-time UAAP volleyball champion with University of Santo Tomas, was part of Alyssa Valdez’ team, the winning squad. And fortunately for Kiefer, there was no moment in the game where he had to receive or block his mother’s attacks.

“I don’t know what she would do,” said Kiefer.

Mozzy, though, hoped she could have taken her son to volleyball school.

“Yes, I wanted to score on him because he was already talking trash on Monday,” she said.

“Monday was kind of okay because he told me the game would take five sets, then Tuesday he said it would be four, and this morning he told me it would be three sets, but we won and he had to eat his words.”
