PH not yielding right to host 2016 Suzuki Cup

THE PHILIPPINES is not giving up its right to host the group stage of the 2016 AFF Suzuki Cup just yet.

The AFF yesterday granted Philippine Football Federation president Mariano “Nonong” Araneta’s appeal for an extension so he could secure a hire contract with the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bocaue, Bulacan.

Malaysia has expressed interest in hosting the Suzuki Cup in the event the Philippines withdraws its right to host the region’s top football competition. Cedelf P. Tupas
