Deldio, Gonzalez lead women’s aquathlon field
PHILIPPINE team mainstay Vicky Deldio and former national champion Sandra Araullo-Gonzalez banner the all-women field vying for the crown in the 2nd Atleta Ako Women’s Aquathlon Sunday at Philsports Complex in Pasig.
Staged in celebration of the International Women’s Month, the race lured over 330 female athletes competing in 11 age categories.
The 500m swim-5K run standard course serves as the centerpiece of the event organized by Bike King led by Raul Cuevas and presented by the Philippine Sports Commission and Atleta Ako.
Article continues after this advertisementOther categories are the 300m swim-3K run petite course and the age-group distances of 50m swim-600m run (7-8), 100m swim-600m run (9-10), the 200m swim-1.8K run (11-12), 300m swim-2.2K run (13-14) and the 400m swim-4.2K run (15-17).
Relay participants will compete in the standard course.
The top three finishers of each category will receive medals and gift packs during the awarding ceremony.
