Galang joins fellow La Salle alums at F2
La Salle feisty open hitter Ara Galang expectedly became the 2016 Philippine Superliga top draft pick Friday night joining fellow alums in F2 Logistics.
“I’m home. I’m very happy that I got reunited with my teammates,” said Galang who is still nursing a bruised bone on her knees but assured that “there’s nothing to worry about.”

“It’s overwhelming that of all the players who joined the draft I was No. 1 pick,” said Galang amid the
cheers of her fans in the crowded SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.
The collegiate star which helped steer the Lady Spikers in the recent UAAP championship will be a formidable addition to the rebuilding Cargo Movers who already have the services of her teammates like Mika Reyes, Kim Fajardo and Cyd Demecillo.
Article continues after this advertisementF2 Logistics, which joined the league starting this year with the season-opening Invitational Cup, already has former La Salle stalwarts Aby Marano and Cha Cruz in its fold.
RC Cola-Army, the Invitationals champion, originally had the top pick but yielded it to F2 Logistics. The Lady Troopers’ coach Emilio “Kungfu” Reyes stated that we “are already a complete team.”
“We want to give other teams chance to make their picks,” said RC Cola-Army captain Jovelyn Gonzaga.
“I’m very excited to play with Ara, she’s a batchmate of my sister,” said F2 top player Cruz. “We just have to make adjustments in the game but we should be ready.”
Petron, picking second, chose CJ Rosario, the 6-foot middle blocker from Arellano University who played for the two-time champion in the Invitationals.
Army’s Kitchen-Perpetual picked setter Renelyn Raterta from University of Mindanao.
