Bali Pure extends win streak to 5, dispenses woeful Baguio
Bali Pure sailed to its fifth straight win in the Shakey’s V-League Open Conference, toying with listless Baguio, 25-18, 25-14, 25-18, Wednesday at San Juan Arena.
Grethcel Soltones took care of the scoring cudgels for the Water Defenders with 20 points as they booked an outright semifinal berth by virtue of their 5-1 record.
Article continues after this advertisementAlyssa Valdez, who has been on a tear averaging 23 points in her two games, only scored eight points but playing coach Charo Soriano did not mind that at all.
Soriano said she wants to engage all her players and utilize each to her best capacity.
“What we want is for everyone to be engaged and involved, walang player na she doesn’t feel like she’s part of the team,” said Soriano. “Not everyone will get the main role, even a supporting role is the best as long as it helps the goal of the team and that of course is a win.”

No player from Baguio finished in double figures with Carmela Dicksen and Maria Tsuchiya leading the Summer Spikers with six points apiece.
Bali Pure went mental in offense raining down on the hapless Summer Spikers with 45 points off spikes and 12 service aces.
