F2 LOGISTICS dealt Foton a 25-11, 25-23, 25-14, thrashing yesterday to vault into the lead in the Philippine Superliga All Filipino Conference women’s volleyball at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.

The Cargo Movers unleashed the full might of their star-studded roster to demolish the Tornadoes for their fourth victory in as many games.

But F2 Logistics coach Ramil de Jesus played down their solid form so far.

FEATURED STORIES

“We still had so many unforced errors,” said De Jesus, adding that his team still has to face a situation where it needs to come back from a deficit. “We still need to be tested so we would know how to respond to such a situation.”

In the second game, Standard Insurance-Navy downed Amy’s Kitchen-Perpetual, 25-21, 26-28, 25-23, 25-20, for its first win in three games.

F2 Logistics earlier defeated struggling teams Amy’s Kitchen-Perpetual, Generika and Cignal but has yet to face formidable sides like Petron and RC Cola-Army.

F2 committed 17 unforced errors, eight fewer than Foton’s.

The Tornadoes, despite the presence of the electrifying Cherry Rondina and the towering Jaja Santiago, just weren’t in sync and only showed signs of life in the second set.

The Tornadoes will represent the Philippines in the coming Asian Volleyball Confederation Women’s Club Championships.

Rookie top pick Ara Galang led F2 with 11 points. Aby Maraño added 10 and Mika Reyes and Cha Cruz chipped in eight each.

Santiago clearly had a tough time adjusting to the open spiker role but still made 13 points for the Tornadoes.
