Superliga: Unbeaten F2 clashes with Petron
UNBEATEN F2 Logistics will try to keep its slate clean while three other teams in the upper rungs of the standings fight to improve theirs when the Philippine Superliga All Filipino Conference women’s volleyball goes to De La Salle-Lipa-Sentrum in Batangas today.
Unstoppable in eight matches, the Cargo Movers will take on two-time champion Petron Tri-Activ Spikers in the featured 7 p.m. match of a three-game offering.
Foton clashes with RC Cola-Army at 5 p.m., while Amy’s Kitchen (0-8) and Cignal (2-6), both fighting for placings, collide at 3 p.m.
Article continues after this advertisementBut eyes will be on the Cargo Movers who ended the first round with a five-set win over the three-time champion Lady Troopers last Saturday. They repeated over them the next evening, the start of the second round.
“F2 Logistics is such a young team and we know that we have no chance winning over them in a game like this,” admitted Army coach Kungfu Reyes. “I think we just have to take it as a springboard to bounce back and win our remaining elimination games.”
The Asian Club Championship-bound Tornadoes (4-3) are eyeing a strong finish here before the Sept. 3 to 11 tournament.
