AS RACAL tries to seal its hold of the No. 1 spot, Cafe France hopes the top seed stumbles as they go for crucial victories in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup today.

Toting a 9-2 record, Racal heads into the 4 p.m. match versus AMA Online Education already assured of the twice-to-beat semifinal advantage.

But the Tile Masters still need to close out their elimination run with a win to claim the top spot.

Otherwise, Cafe France may wrest the No. 1 berth if it triumphs over Topstar Z.C. Mindanao at 2 p.m. at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

A Cafe France win coupled with a Racal loss will result into a three-way tie with Phoenix at 9-3.

In this scenario, the Bakers will grab No. 1 due to a superior quotient, followed by the Tile Masters, while the Accelerators will drop to third.

If both Racal and Cafe France pull off victories, the Tile Masters will emerge as solo leader at 10-2 while Phoenix and Cafe France will figure in a tie for second at 9-3.

Between them, Phoenix holds a better quotient so the Accelerators will claim the No. 2 spot and the last twice-to-beat bonus, while the Bakers will have to settle for third.

“They’re a team on the rise,” Racal coach Caloy Garcia said of the Titans who had James Martinez exploding for a record 58 points in their 125-76 rout of the Aguilas last week.
