Far Eastern University and National University went perfect in the 2016 PBA Rookie Draft with all of its alumni getting called up on stage last Sunday.

Five former Tamaraws were picked in the Gilas round, while two others followed suit in the regular draft.

Alfrancis Tamsi was also selected by GlobalPort, while Achie Inigo went to Phoenix in the second round of the regular draft.

Meanwhile, though no Bulldogs were included in the Gilas round, the dribblers from Jhocson found their way in the regular draft, going five-for-five with three of those set to team up in one team.

Phoenix picked guard Gelo Alolino second in the first round, while also acquiring his former teammates Jeff Javillonar and Pao Javelona.

Coach Ariel Vanguardia explained that he didn’t really make it a point to get those NU guys. It just so happened that these players performed the best in the Fuel Masters’ tryouts.

“They all practiced with us, they’re familiar with the dribble drive, and that’s one edge for them,” he said. “They fit very well dun sa sistema (in the system) and all of them are very good defensive players.”

Former Bulldog big man Tristan Perez was also selected by Blackwater first in the second round, while Spencer Eman was picked by GlobalPort in the third round. RAM
