Alyssa Valdez wins 3rd V-League MVP

Once again proving that she’s one of the best volleyball players in the country, Alyssa Valdez reigned above the rest.

The former Ateneo superstar was named MVP of the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Reinforced Conference on Monday.

Valdez won her third MVP plum after clinching the award in both Open and Collegiate Conferences last year, surpassing the pair of MVP awards won by Aiza Maizo, Mary Jean Balse, and Sue Roces.

She also bagged the 1st Best Outside Spiker plum after leading Bureau of Customs to the Finals.

“I’m thankful and I’m really very blessed to win these awards,” said Valdez. “I would not have won awards if not for the support of my teammates and coaches naman so it goes back to them talaga for helping me get here.”

Meanwhile, Breanna Mackie of Pocari Sweat was feted as the Best Foreign Guest Player.

Other individual awardees include UST’s EJ Laure bagging the 2nd Best Outside Spiker, BaliPure’s Denden Lazaro claiming Best Libero, and Pocari Sweat’s Iris Tolenada named as the Best Setter.

Ria Meneses of UST was also hailed as the 1st Best Middle Blocker, Customs’ Lilet Mabbayad got 2nd Best Middle Blocker, and Michele Gumabao of Pocari Sweat took home the Best Opposite Spiker award.
