Van Opstal sports silver hair: ‘They call me Jack Frost now’
He may not have played in San Miguel’s 94-91 win over Mahindra on Sunday, but Arnold Van Opstal still turned heads while sitting on the bench with his peculiar new hairdo.
Sporting a silverish purple mane that resembles that of Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, the rookie didn’t escape the ribbing of his teammates.

“My nickname is Jack Frost. They call me Jack Frost now,” the 6-foot-7 big man shared, alluding to the comic book superhero who is a part of Liberty Legion.
Van Opstal explained his change of look isn’t an initiation in any way or form, but rather, a spur of the moment as he decided to color his hair last week.

But don’t expect Van Opstal to settle for this silver mane, as he wonders what color would he be sporting next, the same way NBA legend Dennis Rodman did before.
“It’s permanent but it will change. Next game it will be red, then maybe blue, then next game green and red at the same time for Christmas,” he said. “If you guys like it, I’ll keep it interesting.”
San Miguel players haven’t shied away from coloring their hair, with June Mar Fajardo notably going blonde back in 2014.
