Filipino archers bring home six gold medals
Kareel Meer Caniezo Hongitan shot her way to four of the six gold medals the Philippines captured in the 6th Southeast Asian Archery Championships held recently in Yangon, Burma (Myanmar).
The 19-year-old from University of Baguio carted away gold medals in the individual qualification and Olympic rounds while sharing the spotlight in the mixed team and team events.
Hongitan joined forces with fresh recruits Mary Queen Ybanez and Nicole Tagle for the team victory after conspiring with Florante Matan in the mixed team division.

The Filipinos, coached by Clint Sayo and Joy Marino, also seized four silver and two bronze medals to rule the meet also participated in by the host nation, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and guest team Hong Kong. June Navarro
