June Mar Fajardo’s bid for a record-equaling fourth PBA Most Valuable Player in the league’s 42nd season has gotten off to a promising start.

Just three months into the season, the hulking San Miguel center looks poised to pick up a fifth PBA Best Player of the Conference award, which will also tie a league record set by his mentor, ex-San Miguel star Danny Ildefonso.

With averages of 19.4 points, a league-best 15.2 rebounds and 2.4 blocks, the 6-foot-10 Cebuano compiled 43.4 statistical points at the end of the semifinal round.
