North Cotabato medalists in ‘Palaro’ to get cash incentives – governor

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Several North Cotabato athletes competing at the Palarong Pambansa in Antique will be receiving cash incentives for winning medals in various categories.

Based on the report provided by the provincial government on Thursday, Datunot Magaluyan had won silver for long jump; Tenny Madis got silver medal for tennis girls (elementary);  Liezel Joy Canada, Glieza Ampalid, and Jane Flordewyn Ampalid got bronze for the table tennis team (elementary); Caṅada and Ampalid got bronze for table tennis doubles; and the team got the bronze medal for table tennis mixed doubles.

Earlier, Gov. Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza said apart from providing financial help for the transport and food expenses of the athletes, the provincial government would also give cash incentives to those who would win medals for the province.

Gold medalists will be given P10,000, silver medalists will get P8,000 and bronze medalists will get P5,000 each, according to Mendoza.

North Cotabato sent 82 athletes to the Palarong Pambansa in San Jose de Buenavista, which runs from April 23 to 29.  SFM
