P. Smashers, Perlas clash

Perlas and Power Smashers gun for win No. 2 at each other’s expense Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Perlas spoiled crowd favorite Creamline’s debut but absorbed a five-set defeat at the hands of Air Force.

It shared that path with Power Smashers, who downed back-to-back champion Pocari Sweat before suffering a loss to league-leader BaliPure.

Pocari hopes to finally get into the win column when it takes on Air Force at 6:30 p.m.

Perlas will lean on big hitters like Dzi Gervacio, Amy Ahomiro, Kathy Bersola, former MVP Sue Roces, Amanda Villanueva and setter Jem Ferrer. —MARC ANTHONY REYES
