Cignal B duo snares 1st win

Myleen Paat and Janine Marciano withstood the gallant stand of Cha Cruz and Aby Maraño as Cignal HD B edged F2 Logistics B, 21-10, 24-26, 15-10, Friday in the Belo Philippine Superliga Beach Volleyball Challenge.

Paat and Marciano stood their ground as Cruz and Maraño leaned on their individual brilliance to silence the partisan crowd at The Sands at Mall of Asia complex.

“It was smooth sailing in the first set but of course they will not just give up,” said Marciano.

It was Cignal HD-B’s first win after losing in the opener to Generika-Ayala A.

In men’s action Generika-Ayala strung up two wins to make the quarterfinals.

It downed Perpetual B, 21-13, 21-8, in the morning and Cignal HD, 21-14, 29-31, 15-7 at noontime.
