Mondilla: Masters’ revival top pick
Focus will be on Clyde Mondilla when the Philippine Golf Tour resumes with the revival of the ICTSI Philippine Masters beginning Wednesday at Villamor Golf Club in Pasay.
Mondilla, 24, bested local aces Miguel Tabuena and Tony Lascuña on Saturday to snare the ICTSI Manila Southwoods Championship and assume the favorite’s role at the Masters, which is returning after a 17-year hiatus.
Cassius Casas won the event’s last staging in 2000 and, along with multiple Masters champion Robert Pactolerin and Rodrigo Cuello, is given decent chances of foiling Mondilla’s back-to-back bid.

Tabuena will skip the event to compete in the European Tour, but the field remains strong with Lascuña, Jay Bayron, Elmer Salvador, Gerald Rosales, among others.
