Abueva unfazed by Alaska’s slew of losses: ‘We will come back’
Alaska is in the middle of its worst losing streak in franchise history but brash forward Calvin Abueva is not a bit bothered.
Despite losing its 10th straight game, Abueva is confident the Aces are capable of entering the PBA Governors’ Cup playoffs and turning their fortunes around.
Article continues after this advertisement“We’re really not that concerned,” said Abueva in Filpino Saturday at Mall of Asia Arena after losing to Phoenix 95-93.
“We will come back and of course we’ll do something to stop this losing streak.”
Alaska is 0-2 so far in the PBA Governors’ Cup but it lost eight straight games at the close of the Commissioner’s Cup.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Aces’ latest loss was a hard blow with Fuel Masters’ Eugene Phelps dealing the final jab at the buzzer.
“We’ll make the playoffs and of course we’ll return the favor to Phoenix,” said Abueva who finished with eight points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three blocks.
