In-form NU, Adamson nail 4th victories

Adamson warded off St. Benilde’s second-set comeback to post a 25-19, 25-20, 25-17 victory and clinch the first semifinal berth in Group B of the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at Filoil Flying V Center on Monday.

The Lady Falcons struggled against the Lady Blazers, who led midway through the second set, before escaping with a straight-sets triumph.

The San Marcelino-based Lady Falcons thus stretched their impressive run to four and took the first Final Four seat in their side of the two-division tournament organized by Sports Vision.

University of the Philippines and Arellano, tied at second with 3-1 marks, dispute the other slot this Saturday.

But the victory proved costly for the Lady Falcons, who lost top spiker Jema Galanza in the third set after the Adamson skipper twisted her right foot after landing off a block.

Earlier, National U dominated Jose Rizal U, 25-11, 25-15, 25-13, to also go 4-0 and clinch at least a playoff for the other Final Four berth in Group A. —CEDELF P. TUPAS
