NBA: LeBron relieved that Cavs snagged Wade away from other contenders
In case you missed it, former Miami Heat teammates LeBron James and Dwyane Wade recently reunited, as the latter signed a one-year deal to join the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Article continues after this advertisementAlthough the news did not come as a surprise for most fans given the duo’s tight-knit relationship, the Cavs had to fend off multiple teams that were also interested to sign the 12-time All-Star.
Even at 35 years old, the three-time NBA Champion has received much interest from Western Conference powerhouses San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder, not to mention a possible return to Miami.
But after making Wade’s signing official on Wednesday (Thursday in Manila), James couldn’t be more relieved that his team was able to bag the sought-after superstar.
Article continues after this advertisement“I’m happy we were able to keep him away from everybody else,” James candidly told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.
Wade’s arrival in “The Land” is a much-needed boost to the Eastern Conference Champion’s back court after losing Kyrie Irving via trade and in the wake of new point guard Isaiah Thomas’ expected indefinite absence due to injury.
Meanwhile, both Wade and James recently celebrated their on-court reunion over a glass of wine. /ra
