PVL: Ateneo sweeps men’s elims, UST takes third seed
Ateneo remained perfect in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference after 25-19, 25-19, 25-15 beating of National UniversitySaturday at Filoil Flying V Centre.
The Blue Eagles advanced to the semifinals with an immaculate 7-0 record while Bulldogs hold the fourth spot with a 3-3 record.
Marck Espejo was relentless against NU as he put up a game-high 23 points, four shy of the Bulldogs’ total spiking points.
Madzlan Gampong had nine points to lead the Bulldogs.
University of Santo Tomas, meanwhile, finished its elimination campaign by stopping College of St. Benilde, 25-14, 25-10, 23-25, 25-20, to get to the third seed.
Joshua Umandal wreaked havoc on the Blazers’ defense with 25 points with Jayvee Sumagaysay adding 11 points and Arnold Bautista and Tyrone Carodan putting up 10 points apiece.
