Kiefer looks forward to possibility of playing with Thirdy at Gilas
The 2023 Fiba World Cup is still five years away but Kiefer Ravena is already looking forward to the possibility of playing with his younger brother Thirdy in the international stage.
Kiefer is already a member of the senior team of Gilas while Thirdy was chosen to be part of the pool wherein the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas will choose the roster for 2023.
Article continues after this advertisement“Of course I want to play with him,” said Kiefer Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum after NLEX lost to Phoenix, 102-95, in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup. “If the body is willing why not? I’ll be 29 or 30 by that time.”
Kiefer has been a staple in the Philippine national team, having won five gold medals in the Southeast Asian Games and Seaba Championships, while Thirdy has yet to wear the Philippine tricolor.
And with Thirdy breaking into the pool, Kiefer said he’s proud of what his younger brother had done.
Article continues after this advertisement“I’m happy for him, it’s a long way to go, a lot of things can happen but seeing his name and those young guys representing the country come 2023 is a sigh of relief,” said Kiefer. “I’m proud of him and it’s something that he’s earned and I’m extremely proud of that.”
