Return to coaching a blessing for Frankie Lim
For new Perpetual coach Frankie Lim, his appointment at the helm for the Altas couldn’t have come at a better time.
Out of the coaching circuit for the better part of the last three years, the 57-year-old mentor said that he has been feeling the itch to coach for a while before the Altas came calling.

Lim last called the shots for Ginebra in the PBA back in 2015 after a largely successful run in San Beda from 2007 to 2011, netting four NCAA titles along the way.
He was initially appointed as a team consultant last December, but was promoted as the team’s head coach after Nosa Omorogbe had to come home to Nigeria to attend to some family matters.

“I was just appointed on Wednesday and it’s too early to make assessments. We’re cramming a bit, but we have no other choice but to do our best,” he said.
Luckily, Lim can begin his rebuilding period early as Perpetual will participate in the ongoing 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup.
Unlike his golden run with the Red Lions, Lim is tempering expectation as he seeks to bring the Altas back to relevance after a 4-14 run last NCAA Season 93.
“I’ll just do whatever I can. Since the NCAA is still in July, we still have a few months to prepare. We’ll just have to make the best out of it,” he said.
