NCAA volleyball: San Beda books semis ticket, fends off San Sebastian
San Beda secured a semifinals berth after beating a gutsy San Sebastian side, 25-14, 25-22, 22-25, 25-18, in the NCAA Season 93 women’s volleyball tournament Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Cesca Raqraquin unleashed a game-high 20 points, including a kill off a bad reception by Nikka Dalisay to seal the win.

But unlike last year, when it finished fourth, San Beda is on track to earn a twice-to-beat advantage as one of the top two teams.
“It will be a big benefit for us and we really worked hard for that,” said San Beda coach Nemesio Gavino in Filipino.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Lady Red Spikers are currently in second place with a 7-1 record behind defending champion Arellano University (7-1), which has superior quotient.
The Lady Stags (5-3), on the other hand, were with a major blow to their semis bid.
Joyce Sta. Rita had 16 points while Daurene Santos tallied 15 for San Sebastian, which committed four errors that contributed to San Beda’s 7-0 run to end the match.
