Quezon City, Bulacan scuttle foes

MALOLOS—On a night Quezon City outplayed the Gary David-led Bataan squad, preseason champion Bulacan showed its strong title aspirations by whipping Imus in the MPBL Anta-Rajah Cup at Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium.

Quezon City drew a solid performance from Andrew Estrella, who dished out the league’s first triple double, finishing with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to power the Capitals past the Bataan Defenders, 87-69.

David, the former PBA scoring champion, led the Defenders with 21 points.

In the other game, Bulacan Kuyas dumped Imus Bandera, 93-79. Former PBA star Marlou Aquino had four points and a block as he settled for a veteran leader’s role in the squad.
