Lady Bulldogs face reality after Lady Tamaraws loss
All good things must come to an end, as old sayings say.
National University had its five-game winning streak cut when it lost to Far Eastern University Wednesday in the UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball tournament and the team’s skipper said there’s nothing else they can do but move on.
Article continues after this advertisementJaja Santiago said they’re still a positive group despite the 25-22, 27-25, 25-13, 25-20 loss to Lady Tamaraws on Wednesday at Filoil Flying V Centre.
“We just have to move on, that’s the only thing we can do right now,” said Santiago in Filipino as her team dropped to 5-1. “Actually my teammates and I played well, but FEU just worked harder than us.”
Santiago finished with 13 points, less than half of her 27.75 scoring average prior to their game against the Lady Bulldogs, but her team lacked the defensive abilities against the Lady Tamaraws’ charge.
Article continues after this advertisementNU allowed FEU to score 15 service aces and 47 kills, both higher than the Lady Bulldogs’ four aces and 41 scoring spikes.
“We must win our next game, train, and face reality,” said Santiago.
