PAL Ladies champs claim Sherwood Cup top honors
Fresh off their conquest of the PAL Ladies Interclub, Lora Roberto, Nini Samaniego and Claire Ong combined for a low gross of 11-under-par 61 to capture the overall title of the inaugural Sherwood Cup at the Sherwood Hills Golf Club in Trece Martires, Cavite, recently.
The three mainstays of the Manila Southwoods squad that won the revived PAL event in Davao gunned down a total of 11 birdies in a show of excellent putting on the fast greens of the Jack Nicklaus signature course.
The low net honors went to the team of Yun Jae-wan, Hwang Joon-soon and Luis Oh after a six-under 66.

The all-Korean girls team of Jeoung Ni-jeong, Kim Young-ok and Lee Hee-jung ruled Division 2.
Incidentally, Lee aced the par-3, No. 6 and won an LCD TV set.
Mizuno’s Paolo Cagalingan, Justin Limjap and Nico Sevilla were triumphant in the sponsors and guests division with a net 62 in the event, which coincided with the opening of the club’s game room, function room and villas.
