Ceres-Negros aims to keep unbeaten run
PHNOM PENH—Reigning Asean zone champion Ceres-Negros aims to continue its unbeaten streak in the AFC Cup as it clashes with a Boeung Ket squad looking to avenge a heavy defeat at Olympic Stadium here on Wednesday night.
The Busmen, on top of Group F with 10 points from four matches, can move a step closer of sealing a place in the zonal semifinals with another victory in the 6:30 p.m. match (7:30 p.m. in Manila) against the Cambodians, whom they drubbed, 9-0, at Panaad Stadium in Bacolod in February.
Boeung Ket has won just one out of its four matches, its only victory coming against Singapore’s Home United, 3-2, at home on March 6.
The Busmen can clinch top spot in the group with a win coupled by a loss or a draw for Singapore’s Home United against Shan United of Myanmar.
