Unbeaten Lyceum, CSB, UA&P show way
DEFENDING CHAMPION Lyceum, College of St. Benilde and University of Asia and the Pacific clobbered their respective opponents on Sunday to show the way in the 41st WNCAA basketball tournament at the Lyceum gym.
Eyeing a fifth straight league championship, the Lady Pirates notched their second win in as many games at the expense of the Rizal Technological University Blue Thunder, 84-29.
CSB walloped La Consolacion Manila, 80-23, and UA&P bested St. Scholastica, 67-57, to gain a piece of the Senior A division lead.
Rookie team Poveda also dominated St. Paul Pasig, 42-19, in the juniors level.
Poveda duplicated its 37-21 conquest of St. Paul last week in the midget division of the league being supported by official media partner Philippine Daily Inquirer, Mikasa, Molten, Manila Bulletin, Lenovo, Solar Sports, Monster Radio RX 93.1, Taichi, Mojo, CEMG, Goody and MJC Press.
In volleyball matches at the St. Scholastica gym, Lyceum also made it two in a row after a 25-13, 25-15, 25-7 victory over UA&P.
Defending midget volleyball titlist San Beda Alabang posted its second win at the expense of St. Paul, 25-14, 25-11. St. Scholastica thumped Miriam, 25-6, 25-9, to share the top.
