Hamadou Laminou showed he can fill Sidney Onwubere’s shoes in Emilio Aguinaldo College after a 34-point explosion against Lyceum in the NCAA Season 94 men’s basketball tournament on Friday.

The Cameroonian center is putting his season-ending anterior cruciate ligament injury behind and is focused on helping the Generals in any way he can.

“I don’t want to think about my injury anymore,” said Laminou, who is now the team’s star after the departure of Onwubere. “I want to focus on scoring.”

Laminou was out of the season after playing just five games for EAC last season, underwent rehabilitation for a year before joining the General’s training three weeks ago.

EAC head coach Ariel Sison told Laminou to continue to keep taking shots to build his confidence.

“This is his first game after that injury. In the first two quarters, he was not able to sink his shots but I told him to be patient and the shots will fall down,” Sison said in Filipino.

Laminou’s consistency will be tested when EAC faces Arellano University on July 19 at  AU gym. Ivan Ruiz L. Suing
