It will take another year of games before San Miguel could get another crack at the slippery triple crown but for Chris Ross, their season didn’t end when their Grand Slam campaign did.

“The Grand Slam was a huge goal for us and it ended tonight,” said Ross after their 93-77 Game 6 loss to the Gin Kings Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena. “But we have one championship which is a success, and we have a chance to get another one.”

San Miguel, which won the 2018 Philippine Cup, can still make it 2-of-3 for the season if they can capture the Governors’ Cup.

And in the three years under the Austria era, the only time San Miguel won just one title was the 2015-2016 season when it nabbed the Philippine Cup.

“Not every team wins a championship and we’ve already won one so we’re looking forward to try to win another one,” said Ross.
