China decimates Philippines in Asian Games women’s volleyball

The Philippines just absorbed the might of the best volleyball nation in the planet as it lost to China, 25-15, 25-9, 25-7, in the quarterfinals of the women’s volleyball competition of the 2018 Asian Games Wednesday at GBK Volley Indoor Stadium in Jakarta.

China, the reigning Olympic champion, has yet to drop a set and will advance to the semifinals while the Philippines fell to the classifications stages where the best result it could get is ninth.

Gong Xiangyu had 16 points to lead the Chinese while Yuan Xinyue had 15.

Jaja Santiago led the Filipinos with 16 points.

Chinese superstar Zhu Ting had minimal impact on the score sheet with just five points.
