Blazers put loss to Stags under protest ‘for benefit of the doubt’
College of St. Benilde placed its game against San Sebastian in the NCAA Season 94 men’s basketball tournament under protest.
The Stags escaped the Blazers, 66-65, on Tuesday night after Justin Gutang’s last-second layup was nullified following a thorough review by game officials.
Article continues after this advertisementBlazers forward Yankee Haruna immediately signed the stat sheet after the game to officially place the result under protest.
“We’ll see. That’s why we just put that in it’s just for the benefit of the doubt,” said CSB head coach TY Tang.
“They were having a hard time as you can see. It took them a while to be able to decide on that so maybe once they check on it, for the benefit of the doubt, they can still see something.”
