SEAG federation OKs events list
The 30th Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines is shaping up as the biggest edition of the 11-country sportsfest.
All 56 sports submitted by the Philippine Olympic Committee got the nod of the SEA Games Federation in a meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, over the weekend.
Aside from mandatory sports athletics and swimming, sports committee head and POC chair Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino forwarded a long list of disciplines where the country can win a medal.
Article continues after this advertisement“It is a positive development which validated the decisions made by the SEA Games Council in the Manila meeting in May,” said Tolentino.
Among those approved were archery, badminton, baseball, basketball, billiard sports, bowling, boxing, chess, cycling, dance sports, equestrian/polo, indoor hockey, fencing, football, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, ice skating, judo, karatedo and muay.
